1st Hayward trip of 2013

For Emily's Spring Break - I took her up to visit my parents for a nice long weekend. We left on Friday after 4k and stayed until Wednesday. We took our time on the way up and hung out a bit.

Here she is at the mall in Eau Claire eating ice cream and rocking her cowgirl hat

My grown up little girl - sooooo into peace signs lately

We played in the snow a little bit every day!
Up on top of a huge snow bank up there
I had to upload all of these pictures together - they totally tell a story --

Grandpa tickling Em while we're trying to take a picture

Em trying to pick their noses....

Still giggling

The best one I got!
Emily has been begging to go "ice skating" - well we didn't have ice skates but did take her out on parents lake. She was in awe! It's so neat to see these little milestones in her life being checked off the list. One of them - walking on a frozen lake. She loved every minute of the bitter cold and windy day :)

Em and Grammy on Nelson Lake!

My buggie butt

Squatting down on the ice - she loved looking down in there
Here is a video we took for Daddy so he could see her out on the ice for the first time -

There isn't a lot to do up north in the winter, but we played lots of games and puzzles. Did loads of art work and got out of the house each day even if it was just to walk around town and hang out.

Angler's bowling alley was open!

It's a strike!

She had to have the pink ball...

Motorcycle arcade game

This one - I had no idea was coded "violent" so when she shot people blood spurted all over the place...whoops...good parenting, eh?

Emme and Grammy
We had such a great, relaxing time. I'm sad to be home - but need to go back to work. Plus she has her field trip tomorrow to Keva so she is looking forward to that. Next blogs will be Easter - we are hosting both families this year and are really looking forward to it.
Oh - Daddy went to a truck show in Kentucky while we were in Hayward (at least part of the time), but he apparently didn't take any pictures nor does he want to blog about it. LOL! So if you want to know how the truck show went, you will have to ask him :)

Jason Aldean Concert!!

On Thursday, March 21st, Kory & I went to the Jason Aldean concert with our neighbors. We had the BEST time!!! So much fun. We started the night off with dinner downtown and Paisan's with our other friends Jess & Jon. It was a blast and the food was delicious. Then we headed to the Alliant Energy Center for the concert...

Me with Mr. Aldean....errr...ok...maybe it's just a sign!

Thomas Rhett was the opening act and man did he have some good dance moves!

Me and my neighbor and very good friend, Kathy - it was her first concert ever!!!

Kathy & Andy - sooo cute!

Me and Kory - had a blast!

This was Jake Owen - the 2nd act. He put on a great show too!!

ahhhh....Jason Aldean. Not only can he sing and play guitar but he also is nice to look at :)

He even smiled for the camera!
We had great seats and it reminds me how much I love live music. Now to another concert at the end of April with Randy Houser! Can't wait.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We love being Irish, even if it's just a little bit Irish :)

Emily in her St. Paddy's day shirt and the hat she made at school

Cori & Jeff had us over for St. Patrick's Day. The girls were excited to see each other as it's been a while since we were all together.

Gymnastics & Girls Weekend

Emily is just loving her gymnastics class, so we signed her up for a 2nd session. She goes to a place here in Sun Prairie called Prairie Kids Club. They do a great job and she is really enjoying herself. Plus it helps that her best friend Keira and her cousins, Braenna & Mikaiya go there as well.

Here she is listening to Miss Gracie tell then what they are going to do next

Em is in the back getting ready to jump on the spring board - her little friend Keira is posing on the triangle mat

Group shot!

Jumping on the trampoline

Showing off!

She loves the balance beam
A few weekends ago, I got to have the most fabulous girls weekend with 3 of my favorite people in the entire world! Emily and I started the trip off by going to the Dells and hitting the outlet mall. We had a blast! She is turning into quite the shopper. We stopped for Culvers for lunch and then hit the road to Winona.
Emily and her new puppy at Culvers for lunch

A little blurry - but Em and Mommy checked into our hotel room
We met my best friend Ali and her daughter Morgan there. They live up in the twin cities so Winona is a great meeting up place. It doesn't hurt that Al and I went to college there for 4 years and have lots of fun memories.
Ali and her mini-me Morgan

These two girls couldn't be serious if they tried!!!

Again...goof nuts. They just had a blast together.

Still trying to get a normal picture of these 2! This was out at dinner.

Almost Perkins for breakfast the next day.

Me and Al - they say that friends are important in life. You have no idea. I have a few friends that just mean the world to me, and Ali is absolutely one of them. She has always been there for me. No. Matter. What. Love you Al!!!!

Oh my goodness - a nice picture??? Love you girls!

All 4 of us at breakfast
We had such a good time and are planning to do this twice a year - just the 4 of us. Just don't tell Lukie (Al's little boy was not happy that we had a girls weekend without him. LOL!).
