2 Year Dr Visit

We had Emily's 2 year Dr visit today and all went well. He agreed that she is speech delayed, so we set up an appt with the audiologist to do a hearing test in mid-January. Her visit with the speech therapist and early education instructor is on January 7th. So we will see how it all goes!

Other than that, her appt went well. We ended up getting her the flu shot and the H1N1 flu shot. So we have to go back in 4 weeks for the H1N1 booster. It's hard to believe that she doesn't have another well-child visit until she's 3!!

Her vitals from her 18 month visit appear to be incorrect. The Dr is sure the head circumference is wrong because her head actually shrunk which is absolutely impossible!! Her height is now 32.5" (18th percentile) and at 18 months it was 32.25" - so he's pretty sure that was not correct because she should have grown a lot more than that. Her weight appears pretty close though - she was 22.8 lbs at 18 months and was a whopping 25.9lbs (36th percentile) today. So we were very happy with that. Our goal was 25 lbs and we beat it! Whoo Hoo!! Yay mommy and daddy :)

I can't possibly do a post without a picture of my little bug, so here she is tonight after bath in her brand new bathrobe that she got from Auntie CeCe for her birthday. It even has her name on it!! She loves it. Actually didn't want to put jammies on!

Our baby turns 2!!!

It's hard to believe our little "bug" is 2. We decided not to have a big party after the holidays this year, last year just got too stressful. We wanted her to have a special day though, so we took her to the Madison's Children's Museum. She had a blast!!!!

Here she is playing with the city table. Notice Daddy had to get the semi truck out of the bin!!

Daddy found the crane....we had to drag him out of it! LOL! He now wants one for himself!!

Here is Em and Daddy in the music room:

Grandma and Papa came with us too. Here's Em trying to run away while we are taking a picture:

She loved the water!!

A giant fish!!

After the museum we put her down for a nap and then after dinner had our own little celebration. Check out the video:

Do all two year olds almot burn themselves? LOL! Anyways, here she is in her new slippers eating her birthday cupcake...yes, it's a hostess cupcake! We have SOOO many leftover sweets from Christmas that the last thing we wanted was an entire birthday cake sitting around. So we got her a cupcake instead!

Happy 2nd Birthday Emily! Mommy and Daddy love you more than anything in the world! You are such a good little girl. XOXO

Merry Christmas

We had a really nice Christmas this year. We spent Christmas Eve at Kory's mom's house and hosted Christmas Day here with my family.

Here is Emme in her Christmas dress with Grandma Bonnie:

Here's a picture of Em with Uncle Tony's hand. I think it's riot to see the difference in hand sizes....and No - that's not Em's wine :)

Liz brought this game called Rummikub that we all got obsessed with. It was so much fun that we went out and bought our own last night!!

Here's uncle Tony with Baby Zander. Z is now 6 months old already! Emme bought her cousin some big blocks.
Here is Em opening up one of her favorite presents from Grandma Bonnie and Papa. She has been playing with her tea set non-stop. Who knew something so simple would entertain her for hours??

Christmas morning we woke up to Santa's arrival at our house. Santa brought Emme a giant Dora doll (the doll is actually from Great Grandma Walker, but we knew Emme would be excited when she saw it sitting under the tree when she woke up). Santa also filled her stocking with lots of little goodies.

Here's a pic of Em with Grammy and Papa. We had a great time hanging out and playing cards.

Here is Em sitting in her new chair from Auntie Cori and her family - she loves it and it even has her name on it!!
Auntie CeCe got Em this awesome sleeping bag and a duffel bag with her name on it - plus, the best gift ever - 1 free overnight stay with Auntie CeCe--Kory and I were trying to figure out if we could sleep a couple zero's on there for 100 free nights. LOL!

Grammy got Emme her first pair of underpants. Daddy thought it would be funny to tell her it was a hat. So yep - that's Em putting her new underpants on her head!!!

Here is Em with her new bike. She LOVES it! Rides it all around the house. Glad we've got wood floors!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. We surely did!

The First BIG Snow!

Even though this is technically Emily's 3rd winter, she really hasn't been able to enjoy the snow until recently. We had a HUGE snowfall this past week - we got 18 inches in about 24 hours. It was crazy! We were able to get out and play in the snow this weekend when it warmed up a little (by warm I mean above 25 degrees!).

I also got the house decorated for the holidays. I know some of you will be very proud of me. I am not the decorating type, but I know it's important that Emily has special traditions and memories of holidays at home. We LOVE our stockings that Ali made us. Thank you so much Ali. They look very pretty hanging on our railing. Can't wait to see what Santa fills them with!!

We can't believe Emily is going to be 2 in just a few weeks. Where did our little baby go? The time goes by so fast. She's at a fun age, but it can be very challenging as she is getting more and more frustrated in communicating with us. We have recently seen a specialist to get her evaluated for any delays and she is slightly delayed in several areas, but most delayed in her language. Em's been talking since a young age, so the amount of talking isn't the problem - it's that she isn't putting a lot of 2 words together yet. Every day she is learning new words, but she is behind compared to other kids her age. We are meeting with the specialist again soon to figure out a game plan for catching her up. On to her accomplishments now - she LOVES being a little mommy to her dolls. It's so stinkin' cute! We just learned today that she finally knows her first color....poor mommy...it's PINK! Oh well. I tried to get her to say purple! LOL! She loves playing with mom's jewlery and nail polishes. She loves her play kitchen and play cash register. She loves any kind of art project, she colors/paints/draws pretty much every day. I always wonder what parents did before washable paints and markers. She always ends up covered in it and it all over her clothes.
Well that's it for now! We will post more pictures as we begin celebrating the holidays and of course celebrating Em's 2nd birthday!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Kory had a bunch of family come into town. So it was really nice to spend the whole week with them.

Here's a picture of little Owen. He is 8 months old and such a sweetheart. The kid sleeps more than any kid I've ever seen!!!

Here is a picture of Zander - I LOVE his cow hat. It even has a little tail :) LOL! Baby Z is now 5 months old and such a snuggler.

I love this picture of Grandpa Randy and Emme at the park.

The last night with Kory's dad we went out to pizza at JB's Italian Grill. It's one of our absolute favorites. Here's a really nice family picture of all of us:

After spending time with Kory's dad and his wife - we then went to Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Tom's for the rest of the week. Kalli and Mark were also home with their 4 boys.

Here is AJ playing puzzles with Emily. AJ is 8 and is such a good cousin. He loved playing with Emily as did all the boys. Emme is very lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful cousins. Even if she is the only girl of the bunch!!

Here's a cute pic of Zander, Owen, and Emily. They actually sat for longer than expected....maybe it was because we crammed all 3 of them into 1 chair!!! It's kind of funny that the 5 month old and 8 month old are almost as big as my almost 2 year old!!!!

We were cleaning out Grandma Bonnie's basement and found this old Bob the Builder from Reese (Kalli's littlest). Emily LOVED playing with him and we was just her size...literally!!!! She kept saying "Bob Bob Bob Bob". She still asks for Bob now!!!

I really like this family picture of us:

This is the whole crew at Grandma Bonnie's. We were so happy that Grandma and Grandpa Miiller were able to join us this year.

Here is a picture of Emily in a bouncer from 1977....yep - this was also a "treasure" we found in Bonnie's basement. It worked perfectly and of course Emily had to try it out. She loved it!!!

We got to spend Thanksgiving with my family on Saturday. Casey and Mike hosted it at their house. Thanks guys!!! We had a blast and the food was fantastic. Here is a pic of Emme with Grammy and Grampa Walker.

I caught Grandma Miiller singing one of his famous songs to the 3 youngest grandkids. It is so stinkin cute!!!

Emme's New Toy

Emily got an early birthday present from mommy and daddy. A Dora car!!! She loves it. We wanted her to try it out before winter arrived. She loves riding it and is getting pretty good at it too! She hasn't quite figured out how to steer so you have to watch her really close! LOL!

Emily Discovers the Mirror - Toddler Age!

Emily discovered a mirror as an infant, of course, like all other infants. Funny thing is that she still can't figure it out. She put her 2 chairs up against our mirror and sat Doah (a.k.a. Dora) down next to her and set out to enter the world of mirror land....

Halloween - 2009

Sorry it's taken me so long to get some Halloween pics up.

Here's a pic of Kory and I from the Mounds party. Matt Reel is the GM at the Mounds Country Club in Fort Atkinson, so that's where we went. We had a little too much fun....

Kory is just a guy in a powder blue leisure suit and I was Madonna.

Here's Matt's niece Melissa and her hubby Brett. They were a riot!

Here's Howie and one of the ladies...I mean Matt and Brenda :)

And the costume contest winners - Ellie and Tim Reel

Here is Kory with "The Walkers" - it was some old couple that lived next to Kory until he was like 7. I met them...I'm sure they thought we were quite the piece of work! ha ha

We had a great time. Thanks to Grammy for babysitting for us!
